IN THE VALLEY OF MAYENS - DE - RIDDES, where La Tzoumaz is located, you will find 150 km of marked hiking trails of different character. From beautiful trails that will take you through the Larch tree forests, along the bisses to the high elevation alpine landscapes with fantastic views over the Rhone Valley.
The beautiful day hike to Lac the Vaux starts right outside the the hotel with a hike up through the unspoilt and idyllic Vallon d’Arbi to the lake – a perfect place for a picnic and, for the brave, a swim in the cool clear water. The return takes you via Col de Mines and Croix de Coeur with views over Val de Bagnes and the summits of Mont Blanc and Grand Combin. A slightly easier option is to do the hike counter clockwise taking the gondola up and starting via Croix de Coeur.
The hike along Bisse de Saxon, is a journey back in time along the 32 km of an ancient irrigation channel, through beautiful mountain meadows and Larch trees. Other hikes nearby include the charming walk La Voie des Erables and Croix de Coeur to Pierre Avoi where you can reach the summit by ladder for breathtaking views at 2,472 meters.
